Hello fellow PQI Alumni,

With increased provincial support for you, our IH PQI Alumni, there are now more and more opportunities to be involved with Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives locally and across the province.

Your IH Alumni team is aiming to keep you informed of opportunities to participate in QI while also respecting your precious time (and capacity) and minimizing the clutter in your inbox. We are considering and will be PDSA’ing more individualized communication tools but in the mean time we will group and send out time sensitive opportunities the old fashioned way –via email.

If you have questions or if at anytime these informational emails feel burdensome or are just not relevant to your current situation please simply reply and let us know. We are here to support you in your QI work, however that suits you best.

Upcoming opportunities to affect change:

HSR

If you are currently running a QI project that falls within Health System Redesign, and require additional funding to engage other physicians, Medical Affairs is accepting proposals to support engagement of physicians in health authority redesign activities. Please see attached memo from Atsuko Tanahara, Leader, Specialist Services Committee Initiatives, for more information on the application process. The deadline to apply is Friday, December 1, 2023. To apply, please review and complete the two attached documents:

a. Health System Redesign (HSR) application form in PDF (with digital signature of approval or email approval directly from VP, executive director or VP direct report)
b. Excel HSR funding calculation sheet, which supports the amounts included in the application

FE Feedback

If you have been involved in an Facility Engagement funded project, the Doctors of BC is currently seeking feedback related to your data access and support experience. Group sessions are scheduled for November 14th at 5PM or 17th at 7AM, with additional 1:1 appointments possible. More details are in the attachment. The focus groups are 90 minutes in length, and physicians will be paid for their time to participate via FEMS. If you are interested in participating please reply to this email.

PQI

If it has been a few years since you completed your Levels 2 or 3 training and you wish to refresh and elevate your PQI skills, IH PQI is holding their Level 2 – Introduction to QI virtually by Zoom on Wednesday, November 27, 2023 from 9AM to 3PM. More details in the attachment. Sessional funding is available. Click here to register.
